Welcome!

Step back in time as you enter Vie de Bohème, on Distillery Row (7th Ave.) in the hip Southeast Portland warehouse district, bringing an Old World bohemian spirit to life in a chic and spacious European-styled venue with outstanding live music, wine tastings, full bar, and well-stocked wine shop/library, along with great food, plenty of dancing room, wine classes, dance lessons, and private event space.

We produce our VDB wines with grapes grown in the Pacific Northwest’s Columbia Valley AVA (American Viticultural Area), and we offer many other wines, from the Northwest and beyond, by the glass or bottle.

Vie de Bohème takes its name from the Parisian social movement of the late 19th century, which extolled a bohemian approach to life ― unconventional, creative, and  anti-materialistic.  The  movement was embraced by such well-known artists of the 19th and 20th century as Gauguin, Matisse, and Toulouse-Lautrec.

We invite you to join us for an Old World experience — gather around our curving bar for some cultured conversation and enjoy some of the best live music in town, or cozy up in our warm and intimate wine library for a more private tête-a-tête.

We believe sharing a bottle of wine is much more than an act of consumption –  it turns a meal into an occasion, and a gathering, large or small, into a celebration of friendship, shared experience, and the spirit of conviviality — sustaining those social connections is part of the grand tradition of wine bars, pubs, and cafés throughout history, the humanistic and gently subversive project of gathering places like ours.
